How to Create an Amazon Seller Account
Before you start selling on Amazon you will need to register as a seller. Getting started is easy. All you need to do is visit the Seller Central link for the Amazon site where you want to sell and registering an account (see below).
Professional versus Individual Seller Account
In markets where you have a choice between setting up a Professional or Individual seller account, you need to choose Professional. The Individual account does not support Amazon MWS (Marketplace Web Service), which Codisto uses to manage the integration. Professional accounts cost about US$40/month (paid to Amazon) but you save having to pay $1/sale (on the Individual account).
Amazon Sites
As Amazon Channel by Codisto is a Shopify sales channel, you can only connect to one individual Amazon marketplace, such as Amazon.com (the US Amazon marketplace) or Amazon.co.uk (the Amazon marketplace for the United Kingdom), but not both. We recommend you choose the Amazon marketplace that offers the most sales opportunity for your business. For most sellers, this is either their local Amazon marketplace, or Amazon.com (the US Amazon marketplace).
If you wish to sell on multiple Amazon marketplaces globally, you can do so with Codisto’s multichannel app Codisto, which allows you to connect to multiple marketplaces and sales channels, directly from Shopify, including global Amazon, eBay, Google and Walmart, all in one app.
You can learn more about Codisto from the Shopify App Store.
